Julia Friar

Outreach Lead

Julia is the mom to Asher (3), who lives with Classic Galactosemia, and Monroe (1), who does not. She and her husband, Johnathon, live in South Carolina just outside of Charlotte, NC, and are deeply passionate about advocating, fundraising, and building connections within the rare disease community, especially for families affected by Galactosemia.

Julia has a background in counseling and parent education, holding both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Social Work, along with certifications in Positive Discipline for parents and educators. After several years working as a therapist, she launched her own business focused on parent coaching, helping families navigate challenging behaviors and difficult life transitions with confidence and compassion.

Julia and her family are excited to be part of this community and look forward to attending events, building meaningful connections, and supporting other families along the way.
