Tara McCoy

Tara McCoy serves as a board member of the Galactosemia Foundation. She lives in Crestwood, KY with her husband, Jonathan and their three children. Her two daughters, Brinley and Mia, both have Classic Galactosemia and her son Javan does not. Their family’s journey with this rare disease inspired Tara’s passion for supporting and connecting families in the Galactosemia community.

Tara helps lead fundraising efforts for the Foundation and is passionate about raising awareness, supporting research, and helping families feel less alone. She hopes her efforts can help move the community closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.

Before focusing on advocacy and volunteer work, Tara worked as a corporate recruiter and later served as President of her children’s elementary school PTO. She is also involved in her church’s children’s ministry and leads a neighborhood Bible study and Bunco group.

In her free time, Tara loves serving others, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She is happiest at the beach or anywhere warm and tropical.
